spring restyle: "concrete" painted flower pots
this is just a bit of a random photo overload post about some restyle
happenings around our home these days.
this actually needed to be done! ( not the post, the restyle)
Das ist jetzt mal wieder ein etwas bilderüberladener Post,
über ein paar Umstylingsdinge bei uns zu hause, die hier gerade so am Laufen sind...
Und das war dringend nötig (nicht der Post, aber das Umstyling;)!
we had a whole hodgepodge of flower pots in all colors you could imagine.
just because everybody always presents us flowers in different pots,
and because most times I like these persons (but maybe not so much the pot)
I keep the plants and the pots, thinking to take hand and change
it someday... which actually never happennd ...
so here we are.
until that day, I decided to just paint all the flower pots...
Wir hatten ein ganzes Sammelsurium von Blumenübertöpfen in allen verschiedenen
Farben die ihr euch nur vorstellen könnt.
Liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass irgendwie jeder uns Blumen in verschiedenen Töpfen schenkt.
Und weil ich meistens diese Leute mag ( wenn auch nicht so sehr die Übertöpfe),
behalte ich die Pflanzenm samt Töpfen und nehme mir vor diese einfach irgendwann auszutauschen,
was eher nicht passiert.
bis jetzt.
bzw. bis an diesem Tag, als ich mich entschied, sie einfach alle neu anzumalen.
Loving monochrome colors (non colored- no annoying colors),
I wanted to give the pots some kind of an edgy concrete look.
So I chose to go with chalkboard color in grey, which creates a dull
"concrete" looking surface and which is also wipeable afterwards.
Da ich monochrome Farbtöne liebe ( unfarbig, also keine störenden Farben)
Wollte ich den Töpfen eine Art trendy "betonartig/farbigen" Look verpassen.
Deswegen habe ich mich für Tafelfarbe in Grau entschieden, diese entwickelt
eine schöne matte betonartig scheinende Oberfläche, die hinterher zusätzlich gut
abwischbar ist.
At first I thought completing this project is going to take years, but luckily I had my little
helper and it actually went so fast and was so much fun, that we painted a whole bunch of
all other things, coming our way, such as bottles and candle pots, and chairs ...:)
Anfangs dachte ich, das die Fertigstellungs des Projektes wohl Jahre dauern wird.
Aber glücklicherweise hatte ich meinen kleinen Helfer an der Seite
und das ganze ging so schnell und hat soviel Spaß gemacht, dass wir zusätzlich
noch eine ganze Reihe anderer Dinge, die gerade unserer Weg kreuzten angemalt haben,
wie Flaschen, Kerzengläser und Stühle...:)
To not get bored I distinguished the different shades of grey (
or painted bicolored adding also white color and seperated sections with washi tape.
Damit es nicht langweilig wird, habe ich die einzelnen Grautöne etwas differenziert,
bzw. zweifarbig mit Weiß gearbeitet und Farbbreiche mit Washi-Tape abgeteilt.
So the whole procedure was quite uncomplicated and I`m really happy how everything turned out.
And additionaly I also got a restyled stool, pretty candle pots and some new vases for fresh
spring decoration.
dear lovely friends and family, you are still welcome to bring along all kinds of flower pots with awkward
colors, we will find a good use for them in our home;) !
Die ganze Aktion war also ziemlich unkompliziert und ich bin super zufrieden mit dem Endergebnis.
Nebenbei ist gleich noch ein neuer Hocker, hübsche Kerzen und Vasen für eine frische
Frühlingsdeko mit rumgekommen.
Also liebe Freunde und Familie , ihr dürft gern weiterhin Pflanzen in Übertöpfen mit komischen
Farben bringen, sie finden durchaus gut Verwendung in unserem Haushalt :)...
