Time flyes by as usual and in just a few days it´s already christmas.

So like promised I´d still like to share a few little projects 

and pictures from us to you;) .

It´s another easy crochet project from within the last days:

this sweet crochet stars, garlands and headbands for the girls.

Made in the evenenigs, quite relaxed meanwhile a cup of mulled wine

and good chats.

 

Die Zeit vergeht bekannterweise wie im Fluge und nun steht schon bald Weihnachten vor der Tür.

Nichts desto trotz wie versprochen an dieser Stelle noch ein paar kleine Projekte

und Bilder von uns daheim zu euch.

Ein weiteres ganz einfaches Häkelprojekt der letzten Tage waren diese süßen 

Sterne, Girlanden und Headbands für die Mädels.

Ganz entspannt Abends beim Unterhalten mit einer Tasse Glühwein gehäkelt.

ihr wisst ja ich mag Häkeln ein kleines bisschen, also nicht das ich ein Profi bin, 

ich meine einfache Sachen häkeln. Man sieht schnell ein Ergebnis und das macht Spaß, 

vor allem wenn man ganz winzige Babysachen häkelt;)...

I can say that this little crocheting adventure was quite a useful occupation

while baby waiting, especially in the waiting room in between doctor appointments...

so while waiting something useful happened !

I guess the coming months the winter evennigs will be long and there hopefully will be some

evenings before the warm fire place, a glass of wine, good chats

and some crocheting...

Abschließend kann ich sagen das dieses kleine Häkelabenteuer eine willkommene

Ablenkung während des Babywartens war und vor allem während des Herumsitzens

im Arztwartezimmer. da ist wenigstens in dieser Zeit noch etwas Brauchbares entstanden.

Ich denke in den kommenden Monaten wird es außerdem ein paar lange Winterabende 

geben,vor dem warmen Kamin,  mit einem Glas Wein, guten Gesprächen 

und etwas Häkeln

nebenbei ...

I thought it`s time to share another litlle simple sewing DIY again.

To be honest, even if I`m a fashion designer I don`t sew so much stuff in my freetime.

After one day of pattern making and sewing at work, I don`t normally relax sewing again;)

as may can imagine.

But now and then a squeeze in some very simple sewing projects in a little nightshift.

As you can see on this pictures obviously I´kind of have a growing belly this summer,

so there is some need of comfy pregnancy clothing in my wardrobe.

One of my alltime favorites, is wearing maxiskirts,

because they always make quite a good shape on pregnant bodies,

they are airy, comfy and uncomplicated to wear.

Ich dachte es ist mal wieder an der Zeit hier ein simples Näh-DIY zu teilen.
Um ehrlich zu sein, auch wenn ich eigentlich Modedesigner bin,
nähe ich nicht allzuviel in meiner Freizeit. Wie ihr euch vielleicht
vorstekken könnt entspanne ich mich nicht mit erneutem Nähen, 
nach einem Tag voll mit Schnitte entwickeln und nähen.
Aber ab und zu schiebe ich das ein oder andere persönliche, einfache Nähprojekt
in einer kleinen Nachtschicht ein. 

Wie ihr auf den Bildern sicherlich erkennen könnt, habe ich diesen Sommer
einen wachsenden Bauch;) und deswegen auch immer Bedarf 
an etwas bequemer Schwangerschaftskleidung in meinem Schrank.
Einer meiner absoluten Favoriten ist es dabei Maxiröcke zu tragen.
Ich finde sie machen immer eine gute Schwangerschaftsfigur, sind luftig,
bequem und ganz unkompliziert zu tragen.

And my little Emmi loves to wear them too.

For kids you should always add a side seam vent to these skirts, for better movement options.

And of course, they are trendy, so you also can add some vents for yourself.

So this is basically how I create the pattern and sew it, the same thing for little ones and

adults, very simple :

Und meine kleine Emmi tträgt sie auch gern.

Für Kinder ist es dabei gut, immer einen Seitenschlitz im Rock zu haben,

da sie sich daducrh besser bewegen können.

Und natürlich sind Seitenschlitze gerade trendy, ihr könnt euch also gern auch 

welche mit einnnähen.

Ich mache also wie folgt erklärt, allgemein den Schnitt und nähe das Ganze,

dasselbe für Klein und Groß, sehr einfach :

use elastic fabric (knit) , benutze elastische Stoff wie Jersey

a---> Measure your wasteline, (or if you like it wider add some extra width),

and halve the measurement

(I actually don`t like them to wide, 

most times they look skinnier on you if they are a bit tighter.)

Miss deine Hüfte und halbiere das Maß ( wenn du es weiter magst,
füge noch etwas Zugabe hinzu, ich mag sie allg. nicht so weit, da ich finde
das sie enger etwas schlanker wirken)

b---> extra width for the hem (up to you), make sure to have a slight round hemline

Extraweite für den Saum (wie du magst), achte auf eine leicht abgerundete
Saumlinie, für besseren Fall (außer bei Streifen)

c---> length of the knit cuff ( when you cut it, it needs to be that measuremet twice as high,

because you will have it double layered)

Länge des Bündchens ( wenn du es zuschneidest, muss es doppelt so hoch sein, 
da es ja beim Annähen gedoppelt wird

d---> length of your skirt

die Länge deines Rockes

e) if you like a vent, add some extra seam allowance

wenn du einen Schlitz haben möchtest, ergänze extra Nahtbreite

add some seam allowance to all parts of the pattern

füge allen Schnitteilen die Nahtzugabe zum Nähen hinzu

4 easy sewing steps/ 4 einfache Näh-schritte :

Use zig zag or overlock stitch / benutze Zick Zack oder Overlockstich

1) sew the sid seam/ schließe die Seitennaht

2) neaten the side seam vent and use a straight stich afterwards/ versäubere den Schlitz und steppe ihn hinterher ab

3) add the knit cuff with zig zag or overlock/ nähe den Bund mit Zick Zack oder Overlock-Stich an

4) neaten the hem/ versäubere den Saum

Done! Fertig !

Yay for having Easter right around the corner ! Outside around here it doesn`t look so spring like, but insight we are brightening everything up with a little color and flowers.

Like with these little crochet Easter fellows here !

They are so cute, easy to make and make some nice little Easter giveaways.

If you don`t like to crochet you can also knit them.

I came across this fun DIY from lebenslustiger on Pinterest and instead of knitting I crochet

and trust me, it`s  so simple and perfect to reuse some old yarn leftovers :

at the beginning you should crochet/knit a simple square, 

nearly the seize you want your bunny to be.

next you place some basting stitch lines:

1) in the middle right to left

2) from middle edge to middle top, back to middle edge

now simply pull the strings together ---> 1) will divide body from head, 2) will form the ears

stuff the bunny body parts, for that I just used some other old wool remains.

and stitch and close all the open edges ( close the bottom with another basting stitch line)


last step : add a simple pom pom as bunny scut ...

and ...

There you are, READY !

Winter needs some more fun projects,

don`t you think?

or maybe I just need this.

I bet you already saw the different easy loop hand knitting DIYs .

But because I´m not so the knitting type of person,

(more the loosing stitches and creating mess type of )

I thought I´ll maybe go with crochet !?

so I searched the net, if there are already some hand crochet 

things out there. and of course there are. but less.

so I tried my luck. and I just can say,

I really wonder why only a few came across hand crochet.

it´s as simple and fast as hand knitting , I´ll tell you.

So will you join me creating a rug in just around 1,5 h or so ? 

it`s totally worth it ! :

so first of all you need some thick yarn.

if you haven`t you can also add two yarn strings together (see below).

and of course you need your hands, pretty simple;)...

let`s start :

now follow pictures below

1)+2) you start with a simple loop, then crochet another loop through it.

3) then you crochet another six single crochets

4) after that you will close the ring by drawing, the whole beginning technique is

    called  " magic ring " or "magic circle" 

 now add double crochets (twice in each) in every of the six single crochets

5) then go on with your spiral by doing a single crochet then double, then single, then double,...

until you`re done with the second row, in the third row you proceed with 2 single crochets and 

then 1 double, in the 4th row you continue with counting 3 single crochets and 1 double

and so on ... until you reach the size you prefere...

end with pulling the string through the last loop and drawing it all tightly together.

6) I also added some fringes by pulling the string through a loop like shown 

on the picture...

so I was done in around 1,5h with crochet and then another half an 

hour for the fringes,

my rug`s diameter then was around 100cm big.

it´s just done with thicker yarn,

but you also can use finer one like in my case,

but what about the hand or finger crochet technique

with finer yarn !?

easy to make, but not so easy to explain, so I made this short video,

where you can see how I put my fingers :

It´s actually pretty easy.

just try it for yourself,

maybe you`ll find out another finger technique

that also works for you.

anyways it´s just so much fun 

and I´m pretty sure there will be a whole lot of rugs

in my home and my friends homes

and many more hand crochet projects to come ...

just a little valentine´s fun in between...

who doesn`t love sweets and some confetti...!?

plus- add a little love message and pack it all together

in a heart and there you go...

 I also used some thread to make a garland out of a few of the hearts,

inside mine there are some fun love messages and date ideas for the hubs

and some sweets and stickers for the kid ...

and everyone is happy :)...

Just a few simple steps:

1) make a heart shaped template and cut some hearts out of transparent

2) close the heart edges by sewing two shapes together 

( by hand or sewing machine), leave a small opening

3) punch holes in the upper middle

4) add confetti and sweets, messages,...

5) close the opening with some tape

6) add the thread to make a garland

7) tear open and have fun !

So in need of some new cosy accessories for fall I thought about

some new DIY here on the blog.

And it was obvious that it this time had to be a fox scarf...

those who know me already are maybe kind of used to my 

fox fondness. And of course the little girl like it too.

so if you are also looking for a a new cosy friend,

around your neck, here you go:
( at least your kid will love it:)

1- precut 2 layers of fabric, each one around 160cm long

2- cut both the edges into a peak shape

3-  precut the face parts : 1 cut out triangle form, triangles

     for the ears, and one for the nose, I used fluffy fleece material

4- prepare the tale: a "rounded triangle

5- fix the face parts with the sewing machine

    then sew the scarf layers altogether, while sewing the tale 

   right side on right side, layer inside is also getting fixed 

   and leave a hole to turn it upside down, close the hole afterwards

6- fix the button eyes

READY! Have fun !

      Hello everybody,

 it`s been some time after the last style post.
and if you now me I always like to bring something together
with  ideas that you can do yourself...
again a little DIY so here we go...

this time i like to share some combinations of one of my all time favorite material-> lace.

 I love to layer it, or combining it with other lace (if it`s not too much), denim or floral prints...
or maybe a whole lot of things.

this shirt was one of my all time summer companions, but it will also be fine layering it in late summer

(other pieces I wear: headpiece mydearlove-my fashion label:), belt modcloth,
 lace dress even&odd, leggings H&M, hat mydearlove again, denim overall vintage)

So let`s start with a little tutorial:

(it´s so easy to make! 
I so much love to share simple ideas for everyone
 I also could share  long tutorial how to sew a blazer or anything, 
but sometimes for me it´s about simple, easy to make , obvious ideas...
but let me now if you like a little more sewing skilled DIY, I´ll do my best...)

You need:

some synthetic lace fabric

 3 simple Steps!

cut out + cut bands+ knot them together+ slightly burn the edges of the fabric
(sometimes you don`t even need to do this if it doesn`t run)

Thats all... !
 (and yes as I said, I`ve worn it quite often this summer:)
