mandarine cinnamon scented swim candle DIY/ Mandarinen Zimt Schwimm- Kerzen

(Post in English und in Deutsch)

Hello friends,
hope you all had a good start into the new year.
In our case the new year had loads of fresh show instore,
So another reason to make onself cozy at home.
Thatswhy we currently have a lot of candle lights, tea and cacao these days.

so these mandarine cinnamon scented swim candles are just perfect for this.
initially we made them as small christmas give aways but made a wohle lot of them
in the heat of the moment, so we had some left for ourselves.

Not that bad, they fill each room with a wonderful fragrance and ensure a cozy winter atmosphere,
so just right fir some snowy winter afternoons and evenings.

and as already known here, simpel to make.

Da machen sich unsere neuen Mandarinen Zimt Schwimmkerzen u.a.perfekt.

let´s get started:

cut 1/3 of a mandarine, use the bigger 2/3 and take out the pulp,
use a tea light without it`s mold and put altogether with the wick into the mandarine,
now shortly melt the wax in the oven (5 minutes at 180°C ), take the candles out of the oven
afterwards anddrip one drop of mandarine and one drop of cinnamon essential oil into it,
let it rest and solidify
you are a done !
now you have a beautiful swimming little scented candle which by the way also looks just pretty.

So gehts:

so have fun amd have some comfy winter hours, bye for now!
you are a done !
now you have a beautiful swimming little scented candle which by the way also looks just pretty.

(DIY) pregnancy oil for stretchmarks recipe/ Schwangerschaftsöl selbst gemacht.

(Post in English und in Deutsch)

You maybe already figured out that I now and then love to make some homemade care products.
Because first of all it`s not difficult to do and second one knows the ingredients
and so it`s possible to make natural
quality cosmetics for yourself and that by the way quite inexpensive.

and beacuse of that I really wanted to try to make a good preganancy oil
for stretchmarks on my own.

And because it worked out great ( makes super soft skin and it´s non greasy)
I love to share it here with you.

If you figure out normal traded natural quality products, you will find out that there are mostly similar ingredients.

My recipe because of that contains these oils as base:

10ml each of
jojoba oil (moisturizing, cleansing, preservative),
Almond oil (very compatible, massage oil, penetrates deeply, delicate fragrance)
Apricot kernel oil (mild, smoothing, good for irritated skin)

and these oils for fragrance:

10 drops of various pregnancy suitable essential oil as mandarin, lavender, rose, bergamot, citrus, ...
which do not only smell good, but have effectiv range characteristics (I used mandarin, bergamot and lavender)
or (/plus) infuse 2 hours in hot water with 1 teaspoon of rose petals, lavender leaves,
...(which also looks pretty)

thats actual all- ready ! So uncomplicated and perfect to get some extra care and without stretchmarks through your pregancy. And by the way it also makes a cute present for your pregnant friends !

so enjoy your belly time !

swirled/ marbled cinnamon peppermint soap DIY.

Hope you are having a wonderful first Advent week.

(...Deutsche Version kommt noch...)

Time to sit with a tea or a hot cocoa and make a few nice Christmas Give-Aways.
(maybe that´s one of the parts I really like about that season;)...

You maybe already got the point that I like experimenting with glycerin soap base.
So this again is a very easy to make soap version, that smells like Christmas and looks
a lot like sugar candy!

We already love it over here!

So lets make some...

Swirled Cinnamon peppermint soap!

You`ll need:

glycerin soap base (white), essential oil cinnamon and peppermint (appropriate for skin),
red food color, silicon molds, vessels to heat the soap, sticks

Heat the soap in the microwave or on the oven (don`t cook it),
take as much soap as soap bars you would like to make (depends also on your molds),
after melting add peppermint oil to the white soap (circa one drop/100g soap) and
color the other soap with a few drops red food coloring and add cinnamon
oil to it (circa one drop/ 100g). Make sure not to use too much essential oil,
especially cinnamon is quite strong and can, if used to much, cause skin irritation
and we don`t want that on soap, right;)!...

wait a few minutes until the liquid soap gets a bit more sticky, now pour it half and half
( or if you like one color more add more of it) into your molds and use the stick to marble it.

EASY!

Let it rest until it gets solid, and you are done!

Store them airtight until you give them away, so that it won`t loose its´scent until then.

Happy soap making and gifting , everyone !

green tea rose body butter (vegan, easy 3 ingredients ).

Hello beauty,
it´s time to wake up from winters sleep...
don`t you think ;) ...

so why not give yourself a little treat ?
or maybe someone else ...

So I thought  I`ll share another little recipe ,
because it´s easy, all natural and homemade
and will give your skin a fresh spring wake up call
along the way...

are you with me!?:)

You`ll need

basically just 3 ingredients:
250g coconut oil
2 bags of green tea
some organic rose petals

optional:
2 teaspoons olive oil
3 drops essantial oil
( I took jasmin for another slight flower note)

melt the  coconut oil, add the leaves and tea
leave it 10 min on lowest heat (now boiling!),
optional: add 2 teaspoons of olive oil and for a more intense fragrance
you can add 2-3 drops of a flowery essential oil ( I took jasmin),
stir constantly, remove the tea bags and petals, let it cool down,
wait until it starts to solidify, now mix it until it gets its creamy  texture,

store it in some pretty jars or closable containers,
(stored with cool temperature the body butter will be
durable around one year)

aaaand you are done !

dark chocolate mint soap (2 ways) DIY.

I´m totally not done with my soap experiments
and also not done sharing some ideas here...

and because these little things make some pretty gifts,
why not give it a try again ?

So what about a Christmas variation with
mint and chocolate ?

(thinking about it... actually I could have this all year:)...

You`ll need (for around 8 small soaps):

250g glycerin soap
1 tablespoon of natural cocoa
a hand full of mint leaves
(plus maybe 2 drops mint essential oil)

and some pretty silicone molds.
(cupcake molds)

How to:

VERSION 1 (first picture)

Heat 250 g of soap slowly in one pot.
Do not cook.
Add the riped ( for better flavor) mint leaves,
and 2 drops of essential peppermint oil and a
tablespoon of cocoa to the soap, stir thoroughly
and fill in the molds afterwards.

let it rest and get solid.

VERSION 2 ( layered)

Heat 125 g of soap slowly each in one pot.
One after another.
Do not cook:

First start with adding the riped mint leaves
and 2 drops of essential peppermint oil  to the mix,
fill it in the molds afterwards.
Let it rest and get solid for around half an hour.

 Proceed with the other mixture.
Add one tablespoon of cocoa to the
mix and fill it slowly in the already filled
molds afterwards.

That`s all, have fun everyone ...

Happy gifting or bathing :)!

milk& honey, lavender soap (DIY).

so here we are...

several years after the DIY soap trend started,
I`m now also trying it...
is there still a so to say trend ..!? maybe not, I`m too late...

but soap ist still such a useful thing, you know...

I think I really wanted to give it a try for years now,
but always kinda shrinked back,
because it sounded quite complicated,
with all the chemicals involved,
Protective gloves and goggles,
reminding me on school years and chemistry lessons.

Until I came across the simplicity of glycerine
soap as soap base.
Maybe I was also quite a bit late on finding this out !?

Anyways...

I somehow fell in love with it (suprise!)

So here is one of my own soap ideas and recipes,
that really came out quite well
and from which I already made some pretty giveaways
for friends along the way.
( yes they liked it.)

Milk& Honey, lavender soap

You`ll need :

100g glycerine soup
6 teaspoons powdered coffee whitener
1 teaspoon honey

muffin silicon molds

Proceed :

Warm the glycerine soap in the microwave ( or pot in water bath)
as on the appropriate instructions
then add the coffee whitener and the honey,
stir until everything is smooth,
fill in the silicone molds and add the lavender blossoms on top,
let it rest and dry afterwards

READY !

I love to experiment with this,
and I even don`t need any chemical goggles so far,
( though it would look like a serious business while using them :)

just think of all the pretty things you can add,
like different flowers, fragrances and essential oils,
so many possibilities....

any suggestions from your side ?

homemade lipbalm- honey, rose & greentea

Meanwhile I´m quite a bit into making homemade cosmetics
guess I mentioned that already!?
There are actually many simple recipes out there in the www
and it´s so much fun, to try something new,
look what happens and maybe
add a little personal note to it.
simple- and you actually know whats inside your care
products, plus these make pretty gifts ...

One of my current favorites is making homemade lip balm,
it´s so easy! just a few simple natural ingredients,
and lots of possibilities to vary them :

You´ll need :
( makes 4-5 small portions)

2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons organic rose blossoms
(fresh or dried)
1/2 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon green tea
+ a little of your favorite lip color if you like

Melt the oil with very low heat, add the ingredients
and let it rest 10- 13 minutes on a warm place,
( so that it doesn`t solidify)
use a sieve and pour it into small beauty containers/jars.

let it rest in a cool place until it gets set.

That´s basically all ! So this fun won`t take you any
longer than 15 minutes, so happy essaying!

(linking up as always with fromdreamtoreality and so happy to be featured here again :)

The DIY Dreamer

almond, spiced winter body butter (vegan).

So I promised to share some of my this years homemade present ideas.
Because of the lack of time I will not get all edited,
anyways christmas is about family and spending time with our loved ones,
which I prefer and so only share a few projects.

One of my current famous things is making some homemade cosmetics.
Simple ingredients, all natural and you simply know what´s in.

This body butter here is not just perfect nourishing for winter times,
it`s  smooth and creamy and also smells as delightful as any winter and
christmas evenings should smell. These make perfect giveaways and presents.
(at least for oneself:)

Almond, spiced winter body butter:
 (makes four 50ml glasses)

1/2 cup:
shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil (each)
spices:
some cinnamon and vanilla
 aroma:
some drops of almond and vanilla if you like

melt the shea butter and coconut oil, add the almond oil, the aroma and spices,
leave it 5 min on very low heat (now boiling!), stir constantly, remove the spices,
let it cool down and wait until it starts to solidify, now mix it until it gets it´s creamy
and fluffy texture, store it in some pretty jars,
(stored with cool temperature the body butter will be durable around one year)

That it is!

And wanna know more?
Shea butter is perfect for winter skin care , (its rich of precious constituents, which include
unsaturated fats with a large proportion of "unsaponifiables" components, vitamin E and D,
provitamin A and allantoin) such as coconut oil ( super nourishing with Proteins and Vitamin E,
saturated fats and lauric acids clear and minimize skin pores) and almond oil (contains protein,
vitamin E and B vitamins, as well as essential minerals, healthy fats and protein ), the aroma and
the spices give it its pleasant fragrance, cinnamon has a an extra warming effect.

Just some facts I collected in the www, for me this sounds pretty good,
so  it`s getting more and more obvious, to make my very own
all natural cosmetics ...

Have Fun!
